About

Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) strives to improve Nepal’s statistical infrastructure and therefore presents NEFdata: a data dashboard that hosts sector-intensive data repositories of Nepal's Real Sector, Monetary Sector, and Fiscal Sector of Nepal. Currently, there is a considerable amount of publicly available data scattered across various departments and ministries, posing challenges in accessibility. By establishing NEFdata, NEF aims to introduce a comprehensive and synchronized data repository, facilitating easy access to sector-specific data points.

Objective

"To facilitate data analysis and decision-making in the macro-economic, real, monetary, and fiscal sectors of Nepal by providing a single point access to reliable and up-to-date data."

The data in the dashboard comes from a variety of official sources such as the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the Ministry of Finance, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Customs, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), CEIC, and other relevant sources. The team at NEF ensures the data in the repository is updated following the most recent reports made public by the respective agencies
